http://www.house.gov/susandavis/IMA/contact.html This is regarding the laws of this state/country. I'm generally respectful of the laws in this world of ours but I seriously think that some laws are in place just to spite the people instead of to protect them. For example, if someone is coming home from a late night at the office, say around midnight and a policeman notices he is going a little too fast. Road conditions show that there aren't many people on the road, the driver isn't speeding, the driver isn't putting anyone "in danger". The cop proceeds to pull the person over and gives him a ticket, even after hearing the explanation. There's OBVIOUSLY nothing wrong the driver, he already told you he had a long day, using your best judgment, does this warrant a citation?? I know it may be a stretch to have law officials to have this ability to deduce situations but maybe law officials can be trained to have more expected from them. Have their training be with psychologists or people of logic and maybe they can make these decisions better in the future. I don't think it's so wrong to expect the people protecting this world to contain some intelligence. I mean, can you send me a copy of the tests that policeman have to take in order to become a policeman?? I am really curious to see how hard that test can be. Another example, little things like a front license plate... those type of laws. What purpose do they really serve? I'll give the fact that they are needed for those photo intersections, BUT how efficient are those intersections anyway? how many of those photo citations actually come to fruition? I would like to see the stats on that one. Furthermore, to cite a person for not having a front license plate. Should that really be given to a Parking Enforcement individual?? I believe that definition to be a person who enforces PARKING RULES, NOT someone who looks at my license plate. I'm sure if a Parking Enforcement individual is given the power to write any citation a policeman is able to write, they can spend half an hour on each car trying to find something wrong with it. They might as well write a ticket for being an inch out of the little square box, which now that I think about it, they probably would. Yes, laws are set in place to provide a sense of order in this world. But it's becoming a world with no breathing room, no sense of reason and logic. People are being governed by laws instead of by the people. If we start having laws think for everybody, instead of people that are appointed to uphold the law and interpret the law FOR the people to best serve this world then I'd say the world is over. Read this.. Don't read this... Think whatever you want. I don't expect this to change anything, but if you have any sense, then you should be able to see what I'm mean. |
